man, open developement directly translates to be able to increase complexity. there is no mastermind, no central control. people can adapt it. the complexity of all production in some ways is going to be informationalized.

so i would not call it “design for disassembly”, but “designed for modularity”. if you could change and adapt and tinker with your production, information from the users will float back.

Again, I believe that peer production can only win if it offers people a better life than capitalism, and I don’t yet see that in the OSE approach

mmhhh makes me wonder what a better life means. if efficient=better than capitalism might “outperform” (wonderful language, isn’t it) the OSE. but i don’t agree with that equation.
peer production doesn’t have to be more efficient than capitalism, as it has many attractive points that capitalism hasn’t. e.g. more interaction with more people, less alienation, more participation. it’s not only the result that counts.
