Here is more information on your Guidelines. We phrase it as the "Product Selection Metric" - for informing which products to work on, as a guiding principle for the product line of Open Source Ecology (http://www.appropedia.org/index.php?title=Open_Source_Ecology). The Product Selection Metric is a more technical description - found in Section III of http://openfarmtech.org/OSE_Proposal.doc.

[...] Free design is an important building block for spreading peer production, but it is not enough. A second topic discussed in Hiddinghausen was therefore how to facilitate and encourage the sharing and the shared production of physical goods and of services in all areas of life. My proposal here is called the Commons Network. [...]

Hello Christian,

Looks like a great project! We are excited to see how it develops. I have some ideas for possible deep partnership, leveraging what already exists so that up-set can really add without duplicating. One of those ways is that up-set gets developed as a platform for cocreation in up-set's specific way. Then Appropedia would have a up-set category for describing final designs and linking back to projects in motion on up-set.

Up-set could work on the new tools to promote that collaboration and Appropedia could work on maintaining the wiki, bringing in a larger community and co-branding to make up-set pages, clearly up-set.

That is just one idea. We should at minimum work on interlinking in appropriate places so that our membership can find the opportunities and answers they seek.

Good luck with your efforts.
